- Description Federal XM855 5.56mm NATO ammunition is loaded to MIL-SPEC at the revered Lake City facility in Independence, Missouri. Each round is loaded with an SS109 bullet, a 62-grain green tip M855 full metal jacket projectile, comprised of a steel tip sitting on a lead core bullet. The steel tip makes up 27% of the bullet with the remainder belonging to the lead core. Its sealed primer is ideal for long term storage and moisture protection, so these rounds are sure to last in even less-than-ideal conditions. The ammo comes 10 rounds to a stripper clip, with 3 stripper clips to a cardboard sleeve, totaling 420 rounds loaded in a genuine M19A1 .30 Cal ammo can. The 5.56x45mm NATO rounds are manufactured in the Lake City Plant currently run by Federal ATK.
